birthday week.

The most hectic week we've had in ages. Jessie's birthday was great. She totally loved having all the family here and then seeing all her mates the next day. She has got so many presents, and the cutest thing is that she's learnt to sing happy birthday! Not in tune, and very funny! She loved the Easter Egg hunt at Dickon's parents on Sunday, and still can't get enough chocolate. We were at a wedding on Tuesday, and she ran around the room during the meal singing happy birthday and then spent the rest of the evening dancing with the other kids. We're going for a dress fitting for her tomorrow and then getting a couple of presents for Dickon's birthday on Saturday.
My Mum came over yesterday, and we were sitting talking while Jess had her supper. My Mum said "good I'm glad", about something and Jessie kept saying it whenever there was a gap in conversation. It was really funny. I think we're a step closer to getting the potty training thing done too. She almost always gets it now. She wears a nappy whenever we are out anywhere, but while she is at home, she is only allowed cotton knickers. I really hope it doesn't take too long!!!

Jess has finally started saying "orange" rather than "onich". Its a bit sad as I love the little things she comes out with when she doesn't quite get a word right. She keeps saying "I'm always losing it" and then tutting. I'm guessing she must have picked it up form Rose or someone. She pretended to ring my Mum the other day and she said "Hi, Gwanny. Yea, just having a few dwinks." It was so funny. She still wishes everyone a happy new year as well. Today she sang Old MacDonald all the way to Rose's. I didn't even know she knew it.

Jess gets really car sick. Only in our car though. She is fine in Mum's car and Rose's car. They both have Mercedes though, and I'm not quite sure we can stretch to that just yet!

Bed

Jessie has been in her own bed for a couple of months now. At first she woke up every night and came and got into our bed, but she seems to have finally settled into it a bit. We have put the stair gate over her door. It was at the top of the stairs which stopped her falling down them but meant she could get into us if she needed to. Then yesterday Dickon went upstairs while she was having a nap, and found her climbing the ladder into the attic! She opens her door now and reaches across to our door and rattles the handle until on of us gets up to let her in. She doesn't like help to get out of her sleeping bag though. She likes to do it all on her own, then she comes round and gives me a kiss and says "tea Mummy?" and I say "yes please Jessie." and then she hides under the duvet.
She keeps saying things she has picked up from us. Its really funny. She'll get her baby all dressed in her jumper and hat, and put her in the buggy and then she'll say "Right, off we go then."
When Dickon leaves for work in the morning she says "Bye Daddy, love you. See you in a few weeks. Have a good day. See you later. Have fun." She uses every form of goodbye she can think of. And we always get kisses and cuddles.
She is loving going to Rose at the moment. There is a big gang of them there, and she talks about them all the way home. she can't quite tell me what they've done that day, but if I ask the right questions I can get the gist of it.

Tuesday 18th March 2008

We are three days away from Jessie's 2nd birthday. We've got her whole family coming over for her birthday party in the afternoon. Then, the next day we've got her little friends coming over for the morning. Me and Dickon went out today to get chocolate cup cakes and party bags for her friends. We've got her presents already, and i found a really nice Miffy card with a badge on it.

As it is Easter weekend this weekend, we will have a bit of time to give potty training another go. She is really good when we offer, but doesn't always remember to tell us.

Jess loves hiding at the moment. Under our duvet or under her blanket on the sofa. She prefers it if we are under there with her, but she's happy to hide under it and shriek until we find her.

She is loving the cats at the moment. THey are really patient with her. Recently Arkle has been being made to wear a small sailors hat that was meant for a teddy. She doesn't seem too happy about it!

It looks like we've got a choco-holic on our hands. If she even so much as smells chocolate she freaks out until she gets some. As its Easter she keeps seeing it, and has a real terrible twos tantrum if she doesn't get any.
